Applicants must have at least three (3) years of experience providing graphic design support to customers.

 

Illustrators provide visualization services to aid US Military customers in conceptualizing graphics approaches to basic or abstract ideas and plans. The Illustrator will make suggestions, promote and illustrate graphic ideas for the customer. Illustrators also provide recommendations for improvements.

 

Illustrations must be professionally finished, properly formatted, aesthetically in good taste, with balanced composition and colors, proper lettering sizes/styles, no misspelled words, and in accordance with Military Graphic Standars.

 

Typical illustration requests include:

 

• Produce and assemble illustrations or graphs from original artwork scans and existing masters/files.

• Design and construct briefing charts, status boards and wall charts.

• Assemble briefing charts with a cover sheet of plastic, paper and/or mount on cardboard.

• Design and letter interior signs constructed of standard graphics materials.

• Design, construct and letter posters as required, with or without illustrations.

• Design, construct and letter 2-dimensional displays and 3-dimensional exhibits.

• Design and produce artwork for subsequent inclusion in printed publications, to include emblems,

logos, color separations, diagrams, and illustrations.

• Produce other items, such as digital color prints from TIFF, JPEG, and RAW digital image formats.

 

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 3+ years' experience as a graphic designer or equivalent position

• Proficiency in all Adobe Suite Design Programs, using both PC and MAC operating systems

• Must have excellent grammar and proofreading skills

• Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong communication skills and a strong attention to detail

• Ability to conceptualize and execute a project from beginning to end

• Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance (if necessary)
